You are developing interactive sites for clients, describe the details of the job description to the applicant?

October 26th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Technology

Word of the Futuristic Frisbees site that you have created is spreading, and your business is growing! You’ve got more business than you can handle and though you can handle the coding and the SEO right now, you’ve decided that you need to hire someone to handle site maintenance issues for your growing client list. The first person to apply for the position seems to be a good candidate. Assume that you are developing interactive sites for your clients and describe the details of the job description to the applicant.

As a business owner, if someone guarantees Search Engine Ranking within 72 hours, what is your perception?

October 21st, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Corporations

There is no legitimate ‘white hat’ SEO company that can guarantee Search Engine Ranking in an extremely short period of time (unless they are in bed with Google, and if someone knows one, let me know) If a an SEO company does guarantee results in 72 hours, how is that perceived by the business owner who is their client?
Is it perceived as ‘Cheap Services’ - not justifying the cost of the service, or unethical practices, or simple enough to do on their own?

SEO - Search Engine Optimization. how much to charge for this service?

October 18th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Search Engine Optimization

My boss has suddenly appointed me to do all the SEO placement and submissions as well as site updates and configuations to get listed… It was my understanding that we were going to pay someone else to do this, someone with experience. I have some experience but I feel at this point it will take me alot more time and cost her alot more money to pay me to do it. My question is this: How much should I charge her? I am already her personal assistant and make a decent wage. I am thinking about finding a safe middle ground for payment and/or charging her extra funds for any time I spend working on the site, which will be ALL of my time at this point, since her site has just been created and barely online. What is your opinion?
